MEET THE CANDIDATE

Meet Alena Maunder, a third-generation Marin City resident with deep roots in the Sausalito Marin City School District. Multiple generations of her family have attended district schools, including her own children, who attended both MLK and Willow Creek, and she continues to have family members enrolled in the district today.

Alena previously served four years on the Sausalito Marin City School District Board of Trustees from 2020–2024. During her service, she gained experience in school governance, fiscal oversight, policy development, and district accountability.

Professionally, Alena is a registered nurse with more than 20 years of healthcare experience and nine years in leadership. She holds degrees in Psychology and Nursing, as well as a Master of Science in Nursing.

Alena has also remained actively involved in Marin City through community service, youth programs, and initiatives focused on strengthening opportunities and resources for children and families.
